We had a birthday boy in the house, that's right, Nash turned 1! It's hard to believe that one whole year has gone by already, talk about time flying!!! On June 18, 2009 Josh and I were blessed with the most amazing gift anyone could ask for, he has enriched our lives in more ways than we could possibly count.
We celebrated the big occasion a few weekends ago with a farm themed party at Irvine Park. Thanks to all our family and friends that were able to make it, it was a great time! Another great big thanks goes out to my friend Rose Brunner for making such a fantastic cake! Even though Nash won't remember these times, I hope that when he looks back through old photos he'll know just how loved he was and is!
What Nash is up to these days:
- Drinks from a cup and feeds himself
- Still has a bottle in the morning and at bedtime, not for long though! Our last can of formula is almost empty.....
- Walks independently
- Points at everything!
- Loves trucks, ceiling fans, anything with a cord or buttons he can push, the vacuum cleaner, the dishwasher, and spitting his food back at us during mealtime!
- Rides in his car seat facing forward
- Enjoys shape sorting activities
- Climbs up stairs, crawls on and off the couch
- Loves looking at "touch and feel books"
- Dancing!!! (Who says white men can't dance?!)
If you ever look back on this blog (which I hope you will), mommy and daddy want you to know that you are (by far!) the best thing that has ever happened to us! It has been such an amazing ride so far, and it has only just begun! We love watching you learn, discover and explore new things everyday! I get teary eyed when I pack away your newborn clothes or think about you growing up so fast....dad says I'm a sap, and he's right! We take our job as parents very seriously and we can only hope that we bring you up right! We are so proud of you already!
A look back on the first year-
