The past two weekends have been very busy for our family! Last Saturday we celebrated Nash's first holiday (4th of July) by spending the day up at the cabin. Nash enjoyed the fresh air while hanging out in his stroller or being held by one of his many admirers! Josh got the chance to do a little fishing even though nothing was biting, maybe next time! The weather that day was beautiful and it was even more perfect that night for watching fireworks over the lake! The other big news.... Nash's umbilical cord fell off on the 4th of July also!
Happy 4th!
Last week Nash and I went to a breastfeeding support group.... where I received lots of helpful tips to maintain my sanity! During the week we also managed to go out to lunch with a friend, shop at my "happy place" (Target), go to daddy's softball game, I had a dentist appointment, and we also took Nash to the chiropractor. We were told that taking a baby to the chiropractor can have a variety of benefits and Nash really seemed to like it. Getting out and doing something everyday (whether it's exciting or not) is really helping us feel "back to normal"! My mom also came down for one of her weekly visits. She helps out with Nash, makes us dinner, does a little cleaning and joins me for my nightly walk. We (especially I) really appreciate all she has been doing for us!
Nash and Grandma Debbie
On Thursday Josh and I took Nash to the fair for our annual "fat feast" on fair food. It's so bad, yet sooooo delicious at the same time! We played a few games, looked at the exhibits, and enjoyed the company of my dad and his girlfriend Barb. It will be fun to take Nash back in a few years when he can really get into it! Of course our trip to the fair wouldn't be complete without my take home bag of cotton candy... yum!
First trip to the fair~2009
This weekend we took Nash to his "cousins" birthday party. Two of my best friends little boys have July birthdays so they share a joint party. They had a giant slip-n-slide set up and since Nash is too little, Josh decided to try it out! He got his clothes soaked, but had a great time in the process. Too bad I didn't get any pictures! On Saturday I took Nash to his first wedding reception. My mom had fun dancing with him, and even though the music was really loud he snoozed right through it!
Our little boy turned 3 weeks old this week.... seems like a short time, but it sure is flying! He weighs a little over 10 pounds already--- gaining two pounds in two weeks! He is also getting too big for his "newborn" diapers, time for size 1!
"Smoosh Face"
For those of you who voted in our last poll, the answer was.... Josh went through the McDonald's drive-thru on the way to the hospital when I was in labor! However, he did ask my permission and I said it was OK. Even though I was in a ton of pain, what's a few more minutes?! Check out the new poll and have a great week!
