Let There Be Light!

Starting on December 10th, Josh began working DAY SHIFT! Yes that's right, for the next four months he will be working in the daylight, and getting to enjoy evenings at home with his family. I feel like we've won the "family lottery"! We will have more family time in these next few months then we've had in a long time! I love having him home for obvious reasons but I've also been enjoying not eating dinner by myself or spending the sometimes stressful evenings alone! We are all going to enjoy it while we can, come April, Josh will be back to his rotating schedule which means he will mainly be working afternoons and evenings.

As everyone in the surrounding areas know, we got quite the snow storm a few weeks ago!  Josh and I both came down with the 24 hour bug, so along with being trapped (literally!) in our house, we were sick and had a busy toddler on our hands! We had both seen better days, but we're better now and ready to enjoy Christmas! As a very special boy once told me..."Santa will be here in 2 sleeps!" We can't wait to see what Nash gets....wink, wink!
Ready to play in the snow....
I guess NOT!!!!

Last Saturday we spent the day with our wonderful friends, the Jones' for our annual Christmas gathering. We went on a horse drawn carriage ride, had a filling meal at Olive Garden and checked out "A Day in the Life of an Elf" at Macy's in Minneapolis. We all had a great time and Nash sure enjoyed playing with his "cousins"!

Yesterday my dad came over to play with Nash and help me make Christmas cookies. Nash had a bad cold and was pretty upset and clingy, so we didn't get as much done as we had hoped, but it was still a fun father-daughter-grandson day! My dad stayed and put Nash to bed so Josh and I could go to "The Little Fockers" movie. It wasn't all it was hyped up to be, but we had a few laughs and it was nice to get away for a bit!

And we can't forget about Rocky, who celebrated his 2nd birthday on December 10th! We couldn't be happier that he's a part of our family! Look at that face, who could resist?! Guess that's why we have three dogs now, hahaha!!!!
Rocky!!!!
Tomorrow we are hosting all of our parents at our house for Christmas Eve. Josh's brother Jake and his fiance(!!!!) Lauren will be staying in Texas this year and we'll definitely miss seeing them. Thankfully "Skype" will allow us to spend a little time with them tomorrow! And with that, we hope you all have a WONDERFUL Christmas! Enjoy this time with your family and friends and just be merry!!!
