Hello all my loyal BLOG followers! This blog is almost entirely about babies, and not just mine! First, a big congratulations to all of my friends out there who have recently had babies...and by recently I mean within the last few months (sorry I'm a little behind on the blog congrats)! Nicki & Jake welcomed baby Wesley earlier this month, Amy & Scott welcomed beautiful Reese over a month ago already, Heidi & Ryan had baby #2...Easton, and Brook & Craig had adorable twin boys Hudson and Madden on February 12th. It doesn't stop there...several other friends are newly, or somewhat newly pregnant! Congrats to Missy & Ryan, Stacy & Ryan, Jenny & Miah, and Tim & Amber who are all expecting baby #2!!! People sure have been gettin' busy lately!!! So sorry if I'm forgetting anyone....there are just so many babies and kiddos these days. I guess we're all doing our part in keeping the population going!!!
Now on to my baby, who turned 8 months (already) last Thursday! He is definitely our little monster, or as dad likes to call him "senor"! Some of the things he's up to these days:
-Crawls like a champ!
-Stands up CONSTANTLY
-Walks along furniture and anything he can get his hands on!
-Pretty developed pincer grasp
-Eats cheerios, small pieces of crackers, cheese, meat, noodles, etc.
-Loves apple juice and water
-Gives "HIGH 5's"
-Raises his hands above his head when someone says "soooo big"
-Loves playing hide n' seek and peek-a-boo
-Has a great time tapping and banging on things
-Doesn't like his toys, well- he likes things that aren't his toys better!
-Mocks sounds we make
-Recognizes "stop" and "no"...only responds sometimes (kids!)
-Can find hidden objects
-Rides in a "big boy" carseat (No more infant seat....Hallelujah!)
-Likes listening to music
-Looks for Dad, Finley, Mischa, Grandma, etc...when asked.
-Get's mad when you take something away that he's enjoying
-Loves exploring, exploring, exploring!!!
Well, that's Nash in a nutshell these days. He's pretty fun!!!
We did have a scare with him the other day though. While we were cooking, Nash was playing in the kitchen. He was holding onto the closed oven drawer, but he was able to slip his fingers inside. While he was standing up, he slipped and his finger got sliced open. Long story short...there was a lot of blood and a trip to the ER to get liquid stiches. He was a trooper and is fine, infact he was fine about 15 minutes later! Mom and dad were probably more upset. Moral of the story, time for some extra baby proofing! *Note- We are not awful parents! Here's a picture of him napping shortly after the ordeal...with his little baby bandaid on his finger. Too precious!
Below are some more updated "Nashville" pictures-
On a much sadder note, our hearts are breaking for the Thompson family. Justin, Tiffany and little Gavin lost Kaiser, one of their beloved dogs on Saturday when he was hit by a car. It's never easy losing a pet, especially for those of us who consider our dogs (or other animals) "part of the family". And so, as Tiffany reminded me, give your animals extra love and affection, you never know when they might be gone. We love you guys!!! *HUGS*
Check out the new poll question- top right.
